Holidays: Melbourne Cup Day
For those foreigners out there, you are probably very confused. In a nutshell, Victoria (in Australia) has a public holiday in which people can get out of work to watch some horses race. But the Melbourne Cup isn't only for racing. There are fashion shows, food and fun entertainers.
Now, I'm not sure how it works in other countries, but I believe that having a public holiday because of a sport is pretty darn cool.
